Introduction

Before the Flames, Before the Fall... There Was Her.

This is not a story about heroes.
Not the kind you see in capes or in comic books.

This is a story about truth—
Buried, bought, and broadcasted.
About secrets wrapped in solar panels, and corruption dressed in climate buzzwords.
About a girl who was born into privilege,
but refused to inherit the lies.

Red Skylar Redmond is many things:
A daughter. A sister. A fighter. A flame.

She grew up in a world that taught her to smile,
stay quiet,
and play nice with power.

She chose not to.

This is the story of how she became a spark in the dark.
Of how a raven, a blueprint, and a broken promise shaped a movement.
Of how four misfits formed an alliance strong enough to shake the pillars of power.

Before the battles, before the drones, before the chase—
this is where it began.

Red Skylar: The Beginning.
Truth wears red.

Bold, intelligent, and passionate. Red is the central protagonista Harvard-educated artist and activist with a history in humanitarian aid. Known for her signature red hair and tank top/vest outfit, she leads the team against corporate corruption.

This is the story of a girl born into a legacy she didn’t ask for…
and a revolution she was destined to ignite.

Red Skylar—once known as Skylar Anastasia Redmond—comes from wealth, power, and a family name built on secrets. Her father, Charlie the Redman, changed his name to Redmond to survive in a world that asked him to forget his Yaqui heritage. But Red remembers. In her blood, in her bones, in the visions that haunt her dreams—shamans from another world whispering truth.

Her journey begins with loss. At twelve, she loses her mother in a tragic car crash. Her father, lost to grief, sends her far away. She grows up in London, studies peace in Japan, trains in martial arts and meditation—and returns to California transformed.

At seventeen, she rescues a wounded bird beneath an avocado tree. It was no crow. It was a raven. She names him Echo. And like her conscience, he never truly leaves her side.

This is not just a coming-of-age story.
This is a graphic novel, a movement, and a myth in the making.

Together, they will uncover conspiracies tied to poisoned waters, corrupt corporations, and hidden funding from federal agencies. Together, they will take down Sector Seven.

RED SKYLAR: THE BEGINNING

Chapter One of the Beginnings

This is the story of Red Skylar.

In the beginning.

Red Skylar was born with the name Skylar Anastasia Redmond.

Her father's name was Charlie the Redman. He was born of Native Yaqui descent. In order to fit into the norms of the colonized people where he lived, he changed his name to Redmond. The Yaqui are perhaps best remembered through their presence in the shamanic works of Carlos Castaneda.

Red would often have visions—visits from shamans in dreams and daydreams. Whether ancestral memory or symbolic magic, these visions shaped her path.

Carlos César Salvador Arana—better known as Carlos Castaneda—was an American anthropologist and writer. Starting in 1968, Castaneda published a series of books that described his shamanic training under the guidance of a Yaqui "Man of Knowledge" named don Juan Matus. Though often regarded now as fictionalized accounts, the early books—The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge, A Separate Reality, and Journey to Ixtlan—were published while Castaneda was an anthropology student at UCLA. He earned both his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees based on this work. By the time of his death in 1998, his books had sold over eight million copies in 17 languages.

The blood that coursed through Red's veins was pure Yaqui blood. Though she appeared light-skinned, with reddish hair and hazel-blue eyes, she was of proud and sacred lineage—a Yaqui princess in a modern world.

Her mother’s name was Jacqueline Francis Forrester.

When Red was 12 years old, her mother was tragically killed in an automobile accident while returning from Los Angeles to their home in Carpinteria, California.

Her father, Charlie, was devastated. He retreated into a state of depression for two years, unable to function fully as a parent or a leader.

Eventually, he sent Red away—first to London, where she studied languages, political systems, and art. Then to Japan, where she immersed herself in Buddhism, Hapkido, and Tranquil Meditation Methods under a serene but demanding master named Keiko.

She returned home to her father's ranch in Carpinteria at the age of 17. She was no longer a child. She had become disciplined, fluent in three languages, and calm under pressure.

One day, walking alone near one of their avocado trees, Red discovered a fallen bird—injured, still breathing. She thought it was a crow. She nursed it back to health.

But as it grew stronger, she realized it wasn’t a crow.

It was a raven.

She named it Echo. Though Echo eventually flew away, he never left her for long. He would return again and again—silent, sharp-eyed, and always watching.

She had learned early that nothing in her life would be ordinary.

And this?

This was just the beginning.

She Saved a Raven…

It was the summer she turned eleven—
the summer the hills behind the Redmond estate caught fire.

Smoke curled through the canyons like a warning.
Helicopters thundered overhead.
And the adults whispered about insurance and acreage.
But Red wasn’t listening.

She’d slipped away—drawn by a sound.
Not the roar of fire...
But a cry.

In the gnarled branches of a half-burned oak,
a raven thrashed—one wing mangled, caught in barbed wire.

It should’ve scared her.
But it didn’t.

She climbed that blackened tree barefoot,
her skin streaked with soot,
and cut the wire with her father’s gardening shears.

The bird bit her.
Hard.
Left a crescent scar on her palm.

But it lived.

She named it Echo
because from that day on,
it never left her side.

They said the raven was bad luck.
That it would steal.
That it would spy.

They were half right.

Echo would go on to become more than a pet—
a partner, a shadow, a scout.
Fitted later with a micro-camera and GPS beacon,
Echo became her eyes in the sky.
Her link to freedom.

But back then,
it was just a girl and a broken bird—
healing each other in silence.

And that’s when Red learned something important:

The world only fears what it doesn’t control.
And Red Skylar?

She was never meant to be controlled.

She Found Her First Love in Eddie…

Red met Eddie Schmidt the summer she ran away for the first time.

Fifteen, furious, and barefoot again—
she’d had enough of dinner parties,
enough of lies told in expensive suits and clean smiles.

She hitchhiked south with nothing but a backpack and a bad attitude.

She found Eddie in a garage lit by screen-glow and solder sparks.
He was building something weird—
a drone made from a toaster and a bicycle chain.

He looked up at her like he already knew her.
Like he’d been waiting.

“You’re not from around here,” he said.
She shrugged. “Maybe I am. Just never felt like it.”

They talked all night—about systems, sabotage, satellites.
About music. About dreams.

She told him her name was Sky.
He didn’t ask for the rest.

In the weeks that followed, they built more than just machines.
They built trust.
They built trouble.

He kissed her once—on the roof of the old radio station,
as power lines hummed and the stars blinked approval.

It wasn’t a forever kind of love.
Not then.

But it was first
raw and real,
the kind that echoes long after it ends.

And when Red finally went back home,
heart cracked but stronger,
she did so with a blueprint tucked in her jacket…

One Eddie had drawn.

For a signal scrambler.

For a future they hadn’t named yet.

She Was Sent Away by Her Father to Study…

It happened not long after her sixteenth birthday.
No warning. No discussion.

Just a plane ticket, a stiff hug,
and a folder full of “opportunities.”

Her father said it was for her future.
Said she was too curious for her own good.
Too bold. Too loud.

So he sent her to Europe—
to a private academy with ivy-covered walls and invisible fences.
A place where daughters of the powerful were polished like stone statues,
taught to smile, obey, and marry well.

Red did none of that.

She studied alright—
but not what they thought.

She read banned books by moonlight.
She learned how revolutions started—quietly, then all at once.
She learned how to fight from an old groundskeeper who had once been a soldier.

And on the weekends, she would disappear into cities,
watching protests from rooftops,
hacking newsfeeds in underground cafés.

She grew sharper.
Quieter.
More dangerous.

Her father thought he’d broken her wild streak.
What he really did
was give her time to aim.

Because when she returned home at twenty-two,
diploma in one hand, a leather-bound notebook in the other,
she wasn’t just a rebellious daughter anymore.

She was a woman with a plan.

And her war was just beginning.

Eventually, She Landed in Japan and Learned Hapkido…

Her academic exile ended with a quiet rebellion of her own.

Red cashed in her trust fund’s travel allowance,
bought a one-way ticket to Tokyo—
and vanished off-grid for six months.

But Japan wasn’t an escape.
It was a crucible.

She slept in capsule hotels, ate noodles on street corners,
and followed whispers of old martial masters like a pilgrim follows a trail of smoke.

She found one in the back alley of a Kyoto suburb—
an elderly woman named Keiko, who ran a flower shop by day
and taught Hapkido by night
to a select few who truly needed it.

Keiko didn’t ask Red why she was there.
She already knew.

“You carry tension in your heart,” she said. “Let’s see if your body listens better.”

Red trained in silence.
No belts. No trophies.
Just movement, breath, and pain.

She learned how to redirect force,
how to disarm without violence,
how to fall without breaking.

She learned control—not of others,
but of herself.

By the time she left, her hands were calloused, her mind clear.
She didn’t move like a runaway anymore.
She moved like water.

And Keiko’s final words still echoed:

“You’re not meant to fight the world, Red.
You’re meant to balance it.”

She Returned to America, a Seasoned Fighter and Crusader…

When Red Skylar touched down at LAX,
she wasn’t recognized by the cameras or the gate agents—
but the Earth felt it.

She walked differently now.
Eyes like stormclouds.
Movements sharp as cut glass.
She carried no luggage. Only resolve.

Her hometown of Carpinteria hadn’t changed.
But she had.

The condos were taller,
the fences stronger,
the silence deeper.

But the same players still pulled the strings—
her father, the developers, the politicians with clean nails and dirty hands.

She saw through it all.
She’d seen it in every country she'd traveled—
corruption always wore the same suit.

But now, she had tools.
She had allies.
And she had fire.

Within weeks of her return, she’d reconnected with Mary—
still brilliant, still skeptical—
and with Eddie,
who stared at her like he was seeing a ghost
and falling in love all over again.

Charlie joined days later, with a grin and a welding torch.

They didn’t need a mission.
The mission had always been there—waiting.

And with drone eyes in the sky,
cracked codes on the ground,
and Red’s hands ready to redirect the weight of a corrupt system—
they launched their first strike.

A small one.
A test.

They exposed a fraudulent energy contract.

But the fallout?

Was massive.

Because Red wasn’t just returning home.

She was declaring war.

Reunited With Her Sister…

Mary Redmond was always the one who stayed.

While Red ran into chaos, Mary held the line.
A twin by blood, but not by temperament—
Mary was order. Logic. Precision.

She wore tailored suits and kept her hair tied tight.
She spoke in facts. Slept in schedules.
She didn’t chase storms. She calculated them.

And when Red showed up unannounced, barefoot on her doorstep,
dusty from travel and eyes like thunder…

Mary just stared at her for a long, breathless second—
then hugged her like a lifeline.

No words.
Just a long silence wrapped in everything they couldn’t say for years.

Later, over tea and tension, they spoke.

Red apologized for leaving.
Mary didn’t say “I missed you.”
She said, “Are you ready to do this right this time?

Because Mary hadn’t stopped watching the world fall apart.

She had files. Records. Leverage.
A digital library of receipts no one dared open.

She’d been gathering intel while Red gathered strength.

Together, they were no longer two sides of a coin.

They were the whole blade.

And when they joined forces again, the city didn’t shake…

But it soon would.

Then Her Young Love…

Red wasn’t sure if he’d recognize her.

She’d changed—
hardened, sharpened, battle-tested.

But when Eddie opened the door to his cluttered workshop,
bathed in screen-glow and humming servers…
he paused mid-sentence.

And in that pause,
everything came rushing back.

That rooftop kiss.
That drone sketch she still carried in her notebook.
That summer that smelled like solder and starlight.

“Sky?” he said, using the name only he ever called her.

She didn’t answer.
She just smiled—that small, lopsided grin he used to draw in the margins of his schematics.

He invited her in like no time had passed.
And maybe, in the ways that mattered, it hadn’t.

They talked shop at first—coded language, unspoken feelings hidden between words like “surveillance mesh” and “packet sniffers.”

But beneath it all was tension.
Not sharp. Not bitter.
Just… waiting.

Later that night, as she leaned over his desk inspecting a modified drone,
their hands brushed.

And for a moment,
the revolution faded.

Just two kids again,
alone in the hum of technology and memory.

He never asked why she left.
She never explained.

They didn’t need to.

Because love like that doesn’t need a second chance.

It just needs the right moment to resume.

Together with Her Sister, Eddie, and Charlie… They Formed an Alliance

It didn’t happen all at once.
Not in some dramatic vow or secret oath.

It started in a garage—
barefoot conversations between solder sparks and surveillance maps.

Mary brought the data.
Charlie brought the hardware.
Eddie brought the algorithms.

And Red?

She brought purpose.

Each of them had been fighting alone for too long—
collecting fragments of truth,
testing limits,
burning out in isolation.

But together?

They became something bigger.

Charlie built drones disguised as beetles,
mechanical eyes that could slip through vents and vanish into shadows.

Eddie rigged the digital veins of the city—
hijacking surveillance feeds,
decoding encrypted emails with a flick of his wrist.

Mary constructed a logic web of evidence—
boardroom timelines, black budgets, falsified permits.

And Red led the charge.
Not from behind a screen…
but from the front lines.

They called themselves nothing.
No logo. No tagline. No name.
Just a mission.

To dismantle the corporate lies poisoning Carpinteria—
one secret, one scandal, one leak at a time.

The world didn’t see them coming.

But in the back alleys, the city shadows, and the server stacks…

The Red Skylar Alliance had been born.
